Matthew lives and breathes the life-changing potential of architecture. Since the get-go his mission has been clear: practise a concept-to-completion, integrated approach to architecture, now summarised in Architecture as One.
He started MJM|DA in 2003, four years after graduating in Architecture and Civil Engineering Design at the University of Malta, having spent a semester at Virginia Tech and later completing a Masters-level course in New Entertainment Design at Politecnico di Milano in 2006. An MBA with Henley Business School followed, completed in 2021. Since 2008 he has tutored Architectural Design at the University of Malta.
The practice he built is deliberately multi-disciplinary. Architecture, interiors, structures, building services, cost management and project management sit under one roof, because in the Maltese context architecture has too often been delivered as a fragment: a shell, a permit, a structure. That falls short of the mandate architecture has for people.

Founded in 2003 as a single-room start-up. More than 500 projects served since, with seven disciplines under one roof and one point of responsibility for all of them.
